Syracuse guard Trevor Cooney scored 21 points and got the Orange started after being down 25 - 7 in the first half. The Orange got off to a slow start but as they cranked up the zone and extended the floor the Villanova shooters cooled off -- and Syracuse went on a big run of its own which they did not relinquish.
Tyler Ennis had 20 and C.J. Fair added 17, as No. 2 Syracuse beat No. 8 Villanova 78-62 in a game between two of nine unbeaten teams left in Division I.

Saturday night in New York City FSU quarterback Jameis Winston became the 79th winner of the Heisman Trophy. In the last week, Winston claimed the most coveted individual awards for quarterbacks.
It was thought that Jameis would lose out on winning the awards he deserved amongst the sexual assault allegations -- but once the investigation details were release and no charges filed it's been a no-brainer who's the best quarterback in football. Winston received 668 first-place votes to end up with 2,205 points total. Though there were probably a bunch of folks who left Winston off of their ballots - It was the fifth-largest margin of victory in the modern history of the award.
At 19 years old, he's also the youngest player to ever win the Heisman. I'm going to be looking forward to the BCS Championship game - If Florida State Wins Jameis Winston is going to be the media darling and every little step he takes is going to be under a microscope.
After Losing to Belmont and UAB North Carolina showed that they belong amongst the elite in college basketball, earning an impressive victory over the #1 ranked Michigan State Spartans 79-65 Wednesday night
J.P. Tokoto had 12 points and a career-high 10 rebounds to help lead the Tar Heels to victory.
North Carolina (5-2) has been beaten the top-ranked Spartans and then-No. 3 Louisville this season if they want to be a contender for the National Championship they cannot play down to lessor opponents and be able to muster the type of team effort they put forth Wednesday night.
Florida State Attorney Willie Meggs has announced at press conference that his office’s investigation into the alleged sexual assault case against Jameis Winston has resulted in no charges.
Do all of the alleged sexual assault cases conducted by Willie Meggs receive a press conference?
No. Jameis Winston is a young man first, football player second -- as he has not been convicted, this investigation should have been treated as any other and the conclusion of the investigation did not merit a press conference. The media fire-storm over this case should not impact how the prosecutor goes about his business.
This announcement and press conference leads one to believe that was all about Attorney Willie Meggs trying to make a name for himself at the expense of not only Jameis Winston, but the alleged victim.
The State Attorney makes the right decision
Though Jameis Winston has not been charged with the alleged crimes, the stigma of having been associated with a sexual assault will haunt him forever. Hopefully, not only Jameis Winston but the Winston family can move on with there lives.
I also have empathy for the victim as her life has also changed forever.
Many of the mainstream media seem to think that the allegations against Jameis Winston will impact Heisman Trophy voters. Innocent until proven guilty, is my stand.
If you are a media member with a Heisman ballot, allegations without any merit should not impair your ability to vote for any candidate who is deserving of the award.
I know for certain that the former Heisman candidates with ballots will vote for the best candidate based on performance on the field -- for they all have been in Jameis Winston shoes and know how these situations may arise.
Innocent Until Proven Guilty!

The Seminoles improved to 12-0 for the first time since 1999 and likely will earn a spot in the Bowl Championship Series title game by beating Duke in the Atlantic Coast Conference championship game next Saturday.
Duke Earns Trip To ACC Championship Beating North Carolina 27-25
No. 24 Blue Devils "The Are You Kidding Me ACC Team of The Year" made the once-unthinkable goal a reality. Ross Martin kicked a 27-yard field goal with 2:22 left for a 27-25 to beat North Carolina. Duke fans took over the Tar Heels stadium as the ACC Cinderella win face Florida State in the ACC Championship Game.
Clemson Drops Its 5th Game In A Row to South Carolina.
The Tigers (10-2) had never lost five consecutive games to their rival in a series that began in 1896 - which they still lead 65-42-4. The loss also left record-setting quarterback Tajh Boyd 0-for-4 against the Gamecocks. This was a painful loss for the Tiger, but this was still great season.
Boston College running back Andre Williams has ascended from a mediocre to the best in the nation. Going into the last week of the season Williams has amassed 2073 yards rushing.
Williams has blown away BC's all-time single season rushing record. It's only the 16th time in FBS history a player has reached the 2000 yard mark.
In a year where the Heisman talk has been all about the quarterback – I think that Williams should definitely be in consideration for the award as the Nations Top Football Player. It's almost certain that Williams will be attending the award ceremony, if not they need to change what they award is – because it won't be for the Nations Top Football Player.
