It marked the fourth time this year that Watson was named the ACC Offensive Back of the Week, the fourth time in the last seven games. Watson is just the third Clemson player regardless of position to be honored four times in the same year with an ACC award, the first player to do it from the offensive side of the ball.
Keith Adams holds the record with five selections as ACC Defensive Lineman of the week in 1999. James Robinson was a four-time selection as ACC Defensive Lineman of the Week in 1983.
Watson completed 24-35 passes for 343 yards and three touchdowns in Clemson’s win over the Demon Deacons. He also had 10 rushes for 44 yards and a touchdown. He finished with 387 yards of total offense and now ranks 11th in the nation in total offense for the season. He has four consecutive games with at least 380 yards of total offense.
For the season, Watson has completed 241-344 passes for 2,944 yards and 26 touchdowns. He has completed 70 percent of his passes, third in the nation. His 161.07 passing efficiency rating is eighth best in the nation.
