Zac Brooks, predicted to be Clemson’s featured running back this season, suffered a foot injury in practice and will be lost for the season.
“Zac was having an outstanding camp and was ready for a terrific year,” said Head Coach Dabo Swinney. “The plan is for Zac to sit out this year due to the injury and come back next year as a red-shirt junior. This is a big loss because he is such a reliable player in all phases of the game. He knows the offense inside and out.”
Personally I feel for Zac as I know he wants to be out there playing, but football is a next man up sport. So the question is who's going to step up and take the load and fill the void that Zac leaves in the offense.
For the Tigers to be competitive one of those young running backs is going to have to be a stud. No more Tajh Boyd to pick up the slack and be a threat in the running game.
This is where you see what type of talent you've recruited.
Who do you think will step up and take the load?
